Well, what did you expect from a salad lover? Ha!

But there’s this scrumptious salad that has always been my go-to type, and I bet you’ll like them too! WATERGATE SALAD!

I like them because they’re deliciously sweet and are satisfying crowd-pleasers. Meanwhile, they’re perfect for holidays, potlucks, and even parties.

Today, let’s learn the process of making this pistachio pudding salad so you’ll be able to serve them on your next big day.

What is watergate salad?

Watergate salad is one of those well-loved fruit salad recipes that’s super simple, sweet, and refreshing.

It’s known by quite a few names over the years, including pistachio dessert salad, pistachio fluff, pistachio pudding salad, and pistachio pineapple delight, believed to be the original recipe name Kraft used in the 1970s.

Though nobody can verify its origin, we can all agree that this salad is just as tasty as it is thoroughly addictive!

Ingredients in watergate salad

If you’re new to making this gem, watergate salad ingredients are simple, and you probably have them on hand.

  • Pineapple

You need to crush the pineapple for this recipe. A friendly reminder, though – make sure you won’t drain the juice during the process.

  • Instant pistachio pudding mix

  • Mini marshmallows

  • Chopped nuts

Selecting which type of nuts you’d like to include in this recipe is all entirely up to you. Personally, I’d usually pick pecans.

  • Cool Whip

How to store watergate salad?

There are two ways to store watergate salad.

The first is putting them in a bowl covered by cling wrap. This will make your salad easy to pull out, garnish, and serve.

To do this, you need to put your watergate salad in a big bowl, cover it with cling wrap, put it inside the fridge, and you’re good to go!

The second one is placing the watergate salad in an airtight container before sliding into the fridge.

If done properly, your watergate salad will remain fresh and yummy for up to two days.

How long does the Watergate salad last in the fridge?

Whether you use cling wrap and an airtight container to cover your watergate salad, it will stay fresh and delicious in the fridge for up to two days. Just make sure you store them properly.
