The winning team will ‘toast’ to victory.
Every big game has its traditions. But this year, the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl is adding a twist to the usual football trophy: a working toaster. Yes, you read that right. This year’s trophy doesn’t just sit on a shelf; it toasts Pop-Tarts.
Recently, the Pop-Tarts Bowl officially unveiled its 2024 championship trophy, which features a working toaster. The “first-of-its-kind innovation” was developed in collaboration with GE Appliances, a Haier company.
“We listened, and with the help of GE Appliances, we’re delivering a trophy that doesn’t just sit on a trophy stand,” said Pop-Tarts Bowl CEO Steve Hogan.
According to the Pop-Tarts Bowl organizers, the concept of the interactive trophy came from the “enthusiastic fan and media feedback from last year’s Pop-Tarts Bowl,” where the event made headlines for introducing the first-ever edible mascot, which was, in fact, eaten by the champions after the 2023 game.
In an Instagram post showcasing the unveiling of the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl trophy, many fans were amazed by the innovation. Some users commented, “This is so cool!!😱,” while others wrote, “Incredible!! This trophy is popping 🙌.” Others joked, “Who needs a Grammy? Get THIS.”
The 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl will be broadcast live from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. on Saturday, December 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. The winning team will take home the toaster trophy.
