Please…make it permanent.
If you remember, McDonald’s held a national farewell tour for its McRib in the fall of 2022, and in November 2023, the popular sandwich made a brief comeback before disappearing again. It has been on and off menus since 1981—much like a classic on-again, off-again relationship.
Kidding aside—this 2024 holiday season, the iconic barbecue-slathered pork sandwich is back again on the fast-food chain’s menu to “satisfy your holiday cravings.” This time, the Golden Arches has introduced a saucy twist: McRib sauce available in a half-gallon jug.
You read that right—McDonald’s announced the comeback of the famous sandwich starting December 3 for a limited time. McRib fans can also purchase the A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce for $19.99 through a limited drop at www.wholelottamcribsauce.com. However, as of this writing, the sauce is already sold out.
But don’t despair—McDonald’s said the sauce may be sold out, but the McRib is not. Customers can still enjoy the saucy sandwich starting December 3 through the McDonald’s App, in stores, or at drive-thrus at participating locations.
Fans online shared their excitement about the McRib sauce. One Reddit user said, “I’m glad they’re doing this and hope it’s permanent. Don’t know why they haven’t sold sauces before.”
Another asked, “Any idea how long this sauce would keep once opened? I really want to get some but a half gallon sounds like an awful lot lol.”
Interestingly, some customers reported spotting the McRib early, even before the December 3 release date.
