Festive Ornament Cheese Ball Recipe for Christmas Parties

Festive Ornament Cheese Ball Recipe for Christmas Parties

This ornament cheese ball is a festive showstopper centerpiece for your Christmas party table! It is easy to make and eye-catching. Something that I love about this recipe is that it travels well, making it perfect for Holiday potlucks or any Christmas party you are attending and need a simple appetizer.

What makes this recipe so spectacular, though, is how simple it is to make. And oh my goodness, it is absolutely delicious. The flavors are so irresistible that I found myself polishing off the entire appetizer all by myself. It did take me a few days, though.

How To Make An Ornament Cheese Ball

Ingredients

  • One individually wrapped Rollo
  • 1 pretzel bow
  • Dried Chives
  • Cream cheese
  • Mexican-blend cheese
  • Smoked paprika
  • Oregano
  • Chili powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt & Pepper

The beauty of this cheese ball recipe is that you can easily substitute spices and flavors according to your taste and the ingredients you have on hand. For example, use whatever kind of shredded cheese you want. If you want to add a kick, use some shredded pepper jack cheese.

Another note I want to make here is that not everyone stocks smoked paprika. We are big fans of the flavor, but if you don’t have it, just use plain paprika. It will still be delicious.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Step 1: The first thing that you need to do is bring the cream cheese to room temperature.

Step 2: Add the cream cheese, shredded cheese and all of the spices to a large mixing bowl.

Step 3: Vigorously stir to mix all of the ingredients. Keep in mind that this may take a minute but be sure that it is truly mixed well. You don’t want a blob of spices clumped up.

Step 4: Put on some gloves and shape the cheese mixture into a ball. Then, transfer it to a plate and chill it in the fridge. You can cover the cheeseball and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to finish preparing it and serve it.

Step 5: When you are ready, remove the cheese ball from the fridge, roll it, and coat it in the dried chives. When coating the cheese ball, feel comfortable pressing the chives to make sure that they really stick to the ball.

Step 6: When the cheese ball is fully coated move it to a serving plate or tray. Then place the Rollo on top and gently press it into the cheeseball. This is to help it stay in place.

Note: If you are going to travel with the cheese ball, do this step and the following steps once you are ready to serve the Christmas cheese ball.

This festive cheese ball is an easy, no-cook appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings. Creamy and flavorful, it’s shaped to resemble a Christmas ornament and will impress your guests with its seasonal charm.

Ingredients

  • Dried chives
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ c. Mexican-blend cheese
  • ½ t. smoked paprika
  • ½ t. oregano
  • ½ t. chili powder
  • ½ t. garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Single serving wrapped Rollo
  • 1 pretzel piece (bow shape)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese, Mexican cheese, smoked paprika, Mexican oregano, chipotle powder, and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix vigorously until well mixed.
  2. Shape the cheese mixture into a ball with your hands (don’t forget your gloves) and transfer it to a serving plate. Place the cheese ball into the fridge to firm it up just a little, around 5-10 minutes.
  3. When ready to serve, remove the cheese ball from the fridge and roll it in the chives until thoroughly coated.
  4. Place the wrapped Rollo piece on top. Press down slightly to help it stay in place.
  5. Break off a piece of the pretzel so that you have a rounded hook shaped piece. Press the pretzel piece into the Rollo so that it appears like the hanger of a Christmas ornament.
  6. Return to a serving dish and serve immediately with your choice of accompaniments!
