How To Make Christmas Chocolate Covered Oreos
Ingredients:
- Oreos (classic or flavored)
- White chocolate pieces
- Cooking oil (vegetable or coconut oil)
- Festive sprinkles
About the sprinkles. We went with round, flat green, and red sprinkles because they had that Christmas flair we wanted. However, you can get super creative here and use whatever sprinkles you want. We experimented with gold sugar sprinkles, but the color didn’t pop like we expected. I spent a little too long looking at all of the fun Christmas sprinkles on Amazon.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Set up and get ready. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. ( We ❤️these parchment paper sheets. ) Add each type and color sprinkles to their own individual bowls. Next, get all of your ingredients in the same place. Remember, this recipe goes quickly.
Step 2: Melt the white chocolate. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate pieces and microwave in 20-second increments. Star after each session. If you are having trouble getting what feels like the right consistency, add half a teaspoon of cooking oil and keep stirring and melting until it is smooth. It will still be slightly thick.

Step 3: Dip the Oreoes. Hold an Oreo cookie by its edge and dip it halfway into the melted white chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.

Step 4: Decorate with sprinkles. Before the chocolate sets, dip the chocolate-covered portion of the Oreo in one of the sprinkle bowls or dust the sprinkles by hand. Then, place the Oreo on the parchment paper to set.

Step 5: Set the chocolate. The chocolate will need about 15 minutes in the refrigerator to set. So you can place the baking tray of dipped Oreos in the fridge or allow them to set at room temperature.
Storage Tips
Store at room temperature. You can store these in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature, but don’t put them in direct sunlight or near a heat source. You don’t want that chocolate to melt.
Stacking notes. You can stack these in the storage container, but I recommend putting wax paper between each layer so that the cookies don’t stick to one another.
Store for longer. If you want to store these for even longer because you are planning ahead, you can keep them in the fridge for up to a week. The key here is to put them in a good airtight container and remember to layer the stacks with parchment paper.
