Since it is high in fiber it usually only requires about 1/4 the amount of substituting in place of normal flour or almond flour.
What does coconut flour taste like?
Coconut flour has a subtle taste. It has a mild flavor that does not empower other flavors when combined. It still smells like coconut and doesn’t have the neutral taste of cassava flour or wheat.
This is a good wheat substitute in case you are on a diet.

On the other hand, vanilla extract is a laboratory-made alcohol solution with vanillin which has been added with artificial color. It is made by liquifying or softening and filtering vanilla pods in water and alcohol solution.
How do you store keto mug cake?
Typically, you should consume a keto mug cake in one sitting but if you can’t consume it all at once, you can store it at room temperature for a day or put it in the fridge for 2 – 3 days.
Keto mug cakes are best eaten when freshly baked. You can reheat it too, but the texture will already be a little different.
Can you freeze keto mug cake?
Yes, you can freeze a keto mug cake. You have to tightly wrap it with a plastic wrap before putting it inside the freezer. In case you want to eat it, allow it to thaw in the fridge first before reheating it.
When reheating, you can add some butter to make it moist.

Unsalted butter is the best to use when making a keto mug cake. Aside from allowing you to have full control over the level of salt in your keto mug cake, it also brings out the sweetness of the cream.

- Combine all dry ingredients (coconut flour, baking powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt) in a mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl, microwave butter for a few seconds to melt.
- Combine all dry ingredients (butter, low carb sweetener, egg, heavy cream, pure vanilla extract).
- Combine the dry and wet ingredients until completely mixed.
- Pour batter into a microwave-safe mug.
- Cook the batter in a microwave until done, about 1 minute. Do not overcook the cake or it will dry out.
- Take out the mug cake from the microwave and let it cool for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve it with the topping of your choice and enjoy!
Make sure that your mug is microwave-safe. Most ceramic mugs are not microwave-safe. To find out if your mug is microwave safe, set your microwave oven to its highest power setting, fill a bowl with water, place the bowl and the mug in the microwave and microwave them for a minute. If the mug becomes warm or hot, the mug is not microwave-safe. If the mug is cool and the bowl of water is hot, the mug is microwave safe.
