Google has released its “Year in Search” report, an annual look at the top trending searches across various categories, from people to global events. When it comes to popular recipes in 2024, the top spot might surprise you.

The recipe that saw the highest spike in searches this year is Olympic Chocolate Muffins. Inspired by the Paris Summer Olympics, these chocolate-filled muffins became a favorite among homebakers everywhere, with peak popularity in August.

Coming in second is Tanghulu, a traditional Chinese candy made by coating fruits in sugar syrup, which gained a lot of attention in April. Tini’s Mac and Cheese followed closely behind, breaking the internet, especially TikTok, with 133 million views as of this writing.

In fourth place is Mama Kelce’s Cookie, which became popular due to its connection to the Kelce family. The cookies are made by Donna Kelce, mother of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce. Donna told Today.com that she has “always” brought cookies to her sons’ games, a “ritual” she started long before the Super Bowl.

Dense Bean Salad also made the list, created by TikTok user Violet Witchel. It’s a multi-bean salad mixed with veggies, meats, cheese, and dressing. Other trending recipes included Dubai Chocolate Bar, Logan Cucumbers (a recipe trend from viral TikTok user Logan Moffitt), and the classic Onion Boil, all of which had their moment in the spotlight.

Finally, the Sleepy Girl Mocktail and Chia Water rounded out the top 10, with peak interest in January and around August, respectively. In honorable mentions, Google also highlights recipes such as Dill Pickle Bread, Daikon Radish Pickle, and Pickled Cucumber Salad as some of the top choices in pickle recipe trends.
