This is a game-changer.
In an interesting technological leap, an Italian restaurant is changing the game by incorporating generative AI in its service operations.
Known for its innovation in pairing food and beverages, AI company Brown Bacon AI has announced that Cibo Vino is the world’s first restaurant to use generative AI, SomAI, to assist its servers with process and policy training.
Generative AI refers to deep-learning models that can create high-quality text, images, and other content based on the data it has learned from.
Tony Arnold, co-founder and CEO of Brown Bacon AI, claimed that the SomAI can offer the perfect food, wine, and cocktail pairing recommendations from nearly 2.7 million combinations and stated that they are “thrilled to implement the world’s first AI-assisted servers.”
In addition to offering pairing recommendations, Brown Bacon AI’s system helps with training, supports multiple languages, manages allergy sensitivities, and streamlines operations by generating social media posts and marketing emails through an easy-to-use app.
Wendy Becker, owner of Cibo Vino, said that Brown Bacon AI helps them onboard servers faster and improve existing servers’ skills to exceed customer expectations. “We wanted to be on the front end of AI restaurant technology, and offer our exceptional server team tools to exceed the guest experience,” she added.
Executive Chef Don Doty of Cibo Vino shared his excitement about the restaurant’s new partnership with Brown Bacon AI. He noted that the AI solution supports language translations and helps create new ideas for menu and drink items.
“The power of AI is changing the food services industry and we are very excited to be the first restaurant to leverage this groundbreaking technology,” he said.
