The future of effortless shopping is here.
If you’ve ever found yourself lost in a sea of aisles, searching for the right product, you’re not alone. But now, flashing labels are available to take the hassle out of shopping.
Instacart’s Carrot Tags, launched last year, help shoppers locate their groceries using its pick-to-light feature. Shoppers select an item on the Instacart Shopper app, tap the light button beside it, and the shelf label flashes to guide them to the product.
In addition to guiding shoppers, Carrot Tags allow customers to scan a QR code for more information about an item, such as whether it’s eligible for EBT SNAP or to save a recipe. The tags also show key details like dietary information and certifications to ensure customers know what they’re buying.
The company revealed that ALDI, Gelson’s, and Hornbacher’s are the latest stores to use Carrot Tags, following Schnucks’ rollout earlier this year.
“It’s incredible to witness the momentum we’re seeing among retailers adopting Carrot Tags and how it’s transforming the experience for e-commerce shoppers fulfilling orders in-store,” said David McIntosh, Chief Connected Stores Officer at Instacart.
Looking ahead, pick-to-light features will soon be available on the Instacart App’s In-Store Mode and Storefront Pro. Instacart is also planning to add the pick-to-light feature to Caper Carts, which allows customers to flash items from their list, ads, or coupons directly from their cart.
