13 Celery Appetizers That Will Make Everyone Smile

13 Celery Appetizers That Will Make Everyone Smile

Alright, alright. I know what you are thinking. Celery? Really?

Does anyone even eat celery sticks unless they absolutely must, let alone as an appetizer? I hear you but look at the bright side with me for a moment.

Celery’s redeeming quality is that it has a low-calorie count. And a great crunch.  Don’t forget the crunch!

Who exactly said celery is boring anyway? We are going to bust that myth right here, right now!

Who is with me?

Or at least willing to give it a chance?

I am confident you will love at least one of the celery appetizer recipes below!

If you are new to using celery, you may find my post on cutting and storing celery helpful, since having prepped sticks ready is literally half the job for these finger food recipes!

1. Cream Cheese and Pineapple Stuffed Celery

Here is a celery filling idea that makes a perfect appetizer!

The two ingredients that you might never consider combining are cream cheese filling and pineapple, both crushed and chunks cut smaller.

This is a cream cheese mixture that you will love.

Creamy and crunchy and sweet in each bite!

2. Buffalo Chicken Celery Sticks

Low carb recipes with leftover chicken and easy all in the same celery stick recipe? Sign me up!

Seems I always have a bit of chicken I need to find a use for!

You can make this filling ahead of time and simply fill the celery sticks when it is time to eat!

The simplicity makes it one of those easy recipes that you will circle back to time and time again.

Extra protein makes this appetizer seriously satisfying and you can customize the spiciness of the buffalo wing sauce to your preference.

3. Mediterranean Stuffed Celery Sticks

Hummus is the base filling for this stuffed celery recipe! Adding on top diced tomato and cucumber bites along with black olives (use green olives if you prefer) and feta cheese makes these seriously eye-catching!

They are just begging to be picked up and devoured!

4. Celery Mummy Snacks

Halloween is all about candy and every parent tries to fill their kiddos up with real food before the inevitable sugar overload!

These adorable celery appetizers are the perfect distraction for all your October gatherings!

Their cuteness will win over the pickiest of eaters!

Maybe. You’ll certainly get a smile with this holiday appetizer!

5. Stuffed Celery Bites with Cream Cheese & Everything Bagel Seasoning

You may not believe me yet, but this celery stick appetizer fits just about every eating plan on the planet!

It is a rare moment in time when you can please everyone AT the same time!

So do not sleep on loading up celery sticks with whipped creamy filling and adding, wait for it, Everything But the Bagel Seasoning on top. Liberally.

6. Bacon Cranberry Walnut Stuffed Celery

This appetizer with celery stalks combines salty bacon and sweet craisins for a scrumptious snack.

It turns out best if you can do the mixing an hour ahead of time so the garlic, onion and bacon flavors can combine before filling the celery!

Another pretty plate ready to serve!

7. Keto Spicy Stuffed Celery

Sometimes you run across the same ingredients again and again when you are searching for stuffed celery ideas.

The beauty is that each recipe combines different ones in different ways resulting in different flavorful outcomes.

This one combines chicken and mayonnaise, with a drizzled on topping of blue cheese dressing, might be a great way to get food in front of those on a keto diet.

Eye pleasing and tasty!

8. Stuffed Celery Sticks with Bacon and Scallion Cream Cheese

Delightful is the best way to describe this stuffed celery idea! Bacon pieces? Yes, please.

Do we dare? Okay then!

A little mustard and lemon zest too? This is going to be great!

Espelette pepper called for might just add that little something to put this celery appetizer over the top!

9. Stuffed Celery Three Ways

Being inspired to put together your own combinations of celery toppings is exactly what you will find here. If you don’t love pimento cheese spread, you can doctor this to make it your own.

Then making several of them and serving them together? Mind blown!

Fantastic idea!

Room temperature cream cheese and bacon, yes!

Goat cheese and pimentos, yes!

Almond butter and sunflower seeds, yes!

It is so fun to say YES!

10. Crab-stuffed Celery Logs

An unexpected place to find a great recipe, but who doesn’t want to keep their kidneys healthy?

This celery filling idea includes crab meat, red onion, black pepper (to taste), and a splash of lemon juice for a zesty hearty crunch with a shake of paprika on top to look fancy!

11. Stuffed Celery Pieces That Look Like Rudolph

Holidays serve up their own celery filling ideas like these Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ones!

This would make a cute small addition to a holiday meal.

Peanut butter or Nutella base with pretzels for antlers, candy eyes, and a cranberry (fresh or dried) for the nose! Super cute on an appetizer tray.

Adults are going to go crazy over these too! This one is perfect for family gatherings.

12. Celery Sticks Stuffed with Avocado

If avocados are on your “Foods I Like to Eat Every Chance I Get” list, this celery appetizer recipe will send you over the moon!

Avocado heaven!

Your favorite guacamole recipe would be fabulous here too!  A little dip in sour cream never hurt anyone, too, am I right?

13. Ants on a Log

Perhaps the most quintessential recipe for celery filling ideas is the long-standing ants on a log!

Pretty much every kid everywhere, who isn’t allergic to peanut butter, has eaten this at some point or another.

So many nut butter choices available now, you pick one and add those raisins for a quick appetizer or after school snack.

But don’t stop there…lots of other combo ideas here to get your mouth watering!

Bonus points if you kids get involved in making them! Afterall, it is one of those  really easy appetizer recipes to make.

Hi, Sherry. Sorry for the confusion. The title of each recipe links out to the recipe, which could be our own, or a different blogger's recipe. Hope that helps.
