A New York nonprofit organization vows to provide grab-and-go breakfast meals to over 59 schools.
GENYOUth, a New York-based nonprofit, helps schoolchildren in several ways, but its biggest goal right now is to address student hunger among Louisiana youth.
Founded by America’s dairy farmers and the NFL, the organization aims to provide 9 million meals each year to over 32,000 Louisiana students through its Super School Meals initiative and has announced grants for grab-and-go m to more than 59 high-need Louisiana schools in the coming months.
These packages include fruits, dairy/milk, oats, bread, cereal, breakfast snacks, and beverages.
Participating Louisiana schools will also receive mobile meal carts and milk coolers, along with NFL FLAG-In-School kits to encourage student participation in physical activity.
“It is crucial that we support school nutrition programs by providing the equipment and resources proven to increase equitable access to healthy meals, especially for the students who need them most,” said Ann Marie Krautheim, M.A., R.D., L.D., CEO of GENYOUth.
Krautheim also noted that child hunger in Louisiana is critically high and above the national average, and GENYOUth is proud to strengthen efforts to combat youth hunger and create a lasting impact in the state.
The Super School Meals program is made possible through collaborations with various companies and organizations, including NOLA Public Schools, the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, Dairy MAX, and sponsors like Amazon Access, Domino’s Smart Slice, Frito-Lay North America, PepsiCo Foundation, and The Quaker Oats Company.
Culinary Event For A Cause
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the Taste of the NFL event precedes Super Bowl LIX, with GENYOUth as the charity partner. This event aims to raise funds for schools in Louisiana and across the United States.
Proceeds from the event will help provide healthy meals for students in need. In 2023, Taste of the NFL raised $2 million, benefiting over 1,000 schools and 550,000 students by increasing access to 148 million school meals across all 32 NFL markets.
