And it’s naturally rich in flavor with less salt.
North Country Smokehouse has been making bacon for decades with its smoked meats. Known for its flavors and commitment to quality, the brand is introducing a new addition to its lineup.
Now, the smoked meat producer launched its new Reduced Sodium, Organic Applewood Smoked Bacon. It is said to be made by marinating pork bellies in maple syrup and smoking them in batches.

The new bacon, the company shared in a statement, delivers a “naturally rich flavor” that stays true to its taste—just with less salt.
“Reduced sodium doesn’t have to mean reduced flavor, we proved it,” said Chef Chris Mattera, a culinary innovator at North Country Smokehouse.
The brand follows ethical farming practices. North Country Smokehouse claimed that its bacon is Certified Humane®, non-GMO Organic, and made without antibiotics, added hormones, or cages. It also meets California Prop 12 standards.
The new Reduced Sodium, Organic Applewood Smoked Bacon is now available at Whole Foods Market locations nationwide.
Early buyers shared their positive feedback on Amazon, with some calling it “very delicious and tasty,” while others praised its “great flavor with just the right amount of salt.”
