Tips for making Dinosaur Cookie Chocolate Bark

  • Here are some tips to help you melt the chocolate as smoothly as possible without burning it. Be sure to keep stirring the chocolate.
  • Choose whatever toppings appeal to you! We used some whole chips, sanding sugar, sprinkles, dehydrated marshmallows (like the ones you find in a box of Lucky Charms cereal), but you can also add freeze-dried fruits, chopped nuts, broken pieces of banana chips, or chopped candy bars.
  • Don’t use fresh fruit, as the pieces will get watery and will affect the texture of the chocolate and toppings.

You can find the Dinomite Sprinkles on Amazon here, the fun marshmallows here and the Mother’s Mighty Dynamite Dinosaur cookies at most grocery stores for a limited time.

Cuisine American
Servings 7 10×10-in bark

Ingredients

Bark Base

  • 6 oz white chocolate chips or melts
  • 6 oz milk or dark chocolate chips or melts
  • Optional: 1 t plain cooking oil such as vegetable oil or coconut oil, divided

Toppings

  • 8-10 Mother’s Dynamite Dinosaur cookies
  • 1/3 cup mini dehydrated marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2-3 tablespoons Supernatural Dinomite sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon of blue or green sanding sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or dried fruit optional

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolates in separate bowls starting with 25 seconds, then stirring, then in 15-second increments. If the chips are not melting easily, add ½ teaspoon of plain cooking oil to the bowl and stir well.
  • Using a bowl scraper, pour the melted chocolate onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in sections or swirl them together for a marbled effect. There’s no getting this wrong.
  • While still warm, press in the cookie chunks first (they’re your star ingredient)
  • Sprinkle the marshmallows, chocolate chips, and nuts evenly, pressing gently on each with clean hands.
  • Finish with the Dinomite sprinkles and sanding sugar.
  • Find a flat place in your freezer and freeze for 6 minutes to speed along the setting process.
  • Once solid and set, break apart around the cookies and add to serving dishes or bag them in gift bags as desired.
  • Store at room temperature closed tightly for up to a week.
