This Giant Chocolate Bar Made History and Has a Bigger Purpose—Here’s Why

The chocolate creation serves a greater purpose.

A giant chocolate bar just broke a world record, and its creation has a much bigger purpose. In December 2024, Blue Stripes and celebrity chef Nick DiGiovanni set a Guinness World Record for the largest chocolate bar ever made.

Revealed in Ecuador, the bar spanned an astonishing 416 square meters (27m x 15.4m), surpassing the former record of 383.24 square meters set in the Netherlands in 2020.

The assembly took 12 hours, with DiGiovanni and the Blue Stripes team connecting 20cm x 25cm chocolate squares using melted chocolate as an edible “glue.”

“I’ve always loved pushing boundaries with food and taking on record-breaking challenges…” said DiGiovanni.

For him, the record wasn’t the only goal. “…and that’s paired with making an impact and educating the world on the cacao industry,” he added.

After the record was confirmed, the giant chocolate bar was broken into 100,000 servings and donated to schools and community centers in Ecuador.

Blue Stripes is also celebrating the milestone with a sweepstakes that gives a chance to win a $10,000 solid gold chocolate bar and a lifetime supply of their products. The sweepstakes runs until February 28, 2025.
