What’s great about this apple cobbler is that the topping isn’t just a pale, flavorless biscuit-style breading, often the standard when it comes to a southern-style cobbler. This one uses a box of butter cake mix —lots of rich, sweet buttery vanilla flavor with cans of apple pie filling, so no peeling and dicing. Plus you also get your Vitamin B in there: a whole stick of real butter too. It’s a “dump cake” casserole dessert that’s really a cobbler, and the easiest, tastiest one yet.
