Ingredients

  • 6 oz. chicken breast sliced into small bite-sized pieces
  • 6 oz. of Chinese chow mein noodles
  • 1 ½ c. of cooking oil
  • Shredded cabbage about 4 whole ones
  • Chopped garlic 2 ½ cloves
  • 1 ½ c. of bean sprouts
  • 2 carrots sliced into julienne cuts
  • 2-3 green onions cut into 3 inches
  • 2 1/4 oz of water
  • Sauce
  • 2 t. of cornstarch
  • 1 t. of sesame oil
  • 1 ½ T. of soy sauce
  • 1 ½ T. of oyster sauce
  • 1 ½ T. of Chinese cooking wine
  • 2 t. of sugar
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • Starting with the sauce which you are also to use for the chicken marinate, you are to first mix your soy sauce together with the cornstarch before you mix in all the other ingredients. Afterwards, set aside the sauce.
  • It’s time to marinate your chicken breast. Just get one teaspoon of the sauce to be used as a marinate for your chicken. Coat the chicken with the sauce and then set aside.
  • Prepare a pot of water for your chow mein noodles. Put your noodles in and have it boil for around 2 minutes.
  • Over high heat, pour and heat oil over your wok. Afterwards, fry your chopped garlic until it turns golden.
  • Put in the chicken and just stir-fry for about a minute. What it should like on the outside is a little brown but the inside must still remain raw.
  • Add all your veggies--from the carrots, cabbage to the onions. Toss and stir for around 2 minutes.
  • Put in the noodles and stir constantly for a minute.
  • Add in the bean sprouts. Toss and stir until a bit translucent and wilted.
