White gravy recipe

This is how to make white gravy at home. It only takes butter, flour, and milk. I love to make gravy in a cast iron skillet.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 T butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • add the butter to a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. 
  • Add in the flour, pepper, salt. Whisk until everything is fully combined and smooth.
  • Slowly add in the milk, whisking the entire time
  • Bring to a boil. Stir.
  • Reduce the temp to a simmer.
  • Stir constantly until the gravy thickens and reaches your desired consistency. Note: Add more milk if the gravy gets too thick.
