What Is Creole Seasoning? Tips + Recipe

Whether you're a fan of New Orleans cuisine or simply looking to spice up your meals, this mild creole seasoning is great in any kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 T smoked or sweet paprika
  • 1 T garlic powder
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1 t cayenne pepper
  • 1 t black pepper
  • ½ t table sugar
  • ½ t salt

Instructions
 

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Store the seasoning in an airtight container; keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place.

Notes

You can adjust the amounts of the ingredients to your liking. For example, if you like your Creole seasoning to be hotter, add more cayenne.
