How to Make Linseed Tea

This is a recipe for making linseed tea. (Note that linseed is another name for flaxseed.) This is the stovetop and overnight method.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 T linseed or flaxseed
  • 4 c water

Instructions
 

  • Add the seeds and water to a medium saucepan on medium heat.
  • Allow the mixture to simmer but don’t bring it to a boil.
  • Just before it starts to boil turn the pan off.
  • Remove the pan from the heat, cover, and allow to sit overnight.
  • The next morning bring to the mixture to a simmer once more.
  • Turn it to the lowest heat setting and allow it to cook for one hour.
  • Strain out the seeds.
  • Serve the tea.
