How to Freeze Potato Salad
This is our tutorial on how to freeze potato salad. We include the steps for defrosting potato salad as well.
Ingredients
- freezer safe container or freezer baggie
Instructions
- Add the potato salad to a freezer baggie. Do not fill it completely. Only fill it 3/4 the way full.
- Squeeze all of the air out of the baggie.
- Place the baggie in the freezer. Lay it flat so that the potato salad freezes flat.
To Defrost the potato salad:
- 1. Remove the potato salad from the freezer and place it in the fridge.
- 2. Allow it to defrost for 24 hours in the fridge.
- 3. Stir it prior to serving.
Notes
Experts advise against freezing potato salad because when you defrost it, it may be watery. If we have a lot of leftover potato salad it is worth the risk for us. Give it a try and use your own judgement on the issue.
