Ingredients

For Cupcakes:

  • 1 box of your favorite cake mix e.g., vanilla, chocolate, red velvet
  • Ingredients called for on the cake mix box usually oil, water, and eggs
  • 1 cup melted ice cream flavor of your choice, complementing the cake mix
  • Note: You'll be replacing the water in the cake mix with ice cream.

For Frosting:

  • 1 can of cream cheese frosting

Optional Toppings:

  • Sprinkles crushed cookies, chocolate chips, or any other preferred toppings.

Instructions

Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan:

  • Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Mix the Cake Batter:

  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix with the oil and eggs as directed on the package.
  • Instead of adding water (as per the box instructions), add an equal amount of melted ice cream. Mix until well combined.

Bake:

  • Fill each cupcake liner about ¾ full with the batter.
  • Bake according to the time specified on the cake mix box, usually around 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frost Cupcakes:

  • Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them with the canned cream cheese frosting.

Add Toppings:

  • Decorate with your choice of toppings such as sprinkles, crushed cookies, or chocolate chips.

Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • The choice of ice cream flavor can significantly influence the cupcakes' taste. Pair the ice cream flavor with the cake mix for best results (e.g., chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake mix).
  • For a less sweet option, consider using a less sweet flavor of ice cream, as the frosting and cake mix already contain sugar.
  • These cupcakes can be stored in an airtight container and kept at room temperature for a day or refrigerated for longer storage.
