Baby back ribs rubbed with BBQ seasoning, cooked 8 hours on low in the slow cooker, then finished in a 425 degree oven so the barbecue sauce caramelizes on top. Three ingredients.
Rub the BBQ seasoning over the front and back of both halves.
Place one half bone side down in the slow cooker and cover it with barbecue sauce. Repeat with the second half.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Heat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
Transfer the ribs to the lined sheet pan, brush them with the remaining barbecue sauce, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the sauce tightens and caramelizes on top.
Notes
I prefer a high heat over the broiler. Eight hours on low makes the ribs tender, but the sauce stays loose and pale in the slow cooker. Heat the oven to 425 F, move the ribs to a parchment-lined rimmed sheet pan, brush on another coat of barbecue sauce, and bake 10 to 15 minutes, until the sauce tightens and caramelizes on top. Watch the last few minutes, beacuse the sugar can burn fast. Check at 10 minutes and pull the ribs as soon as the top looks glossy and set.Use parchment. Sugary barbecue sauce welds itself to a bare sheet pan.
