Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin, spraying the area between cups too, since these will "pop over" the top.
Cut or scissor each biscuit into 4 pieces and place them in a large bowl. Set aside.
Stir together the granulated sugar, cinnamon and orange zest. Sprinkle over the biscuit pieces and toss gently until coated.
Add cranberries and stir gently. Divide the biscuit and cranberry mixture between the muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full.
To save a dish, grab the sugar bowl you just used, and if it's microwave-safe, melt the butter and brown sugar in the microwave.
Spoon butter/brown sugar mixture over each cup, about 2 tablespoons per muffin cup. Set aside the sugar/butter bowl but keep it nearby since we are about to use it a third time.
Bake 16 - 20 minutes, until the tops are golden and the biscuit pieces done. Soe of the cranberries will pop, but not all. Cool in the pan about 5 minutes before carefully removing.
In the sugar/butter bowl we set aside earlier: Whisk the powdered sugar, orange juice and orange zest until smooth. Drizzle over the warm monkey bread bites before serving.
Notes
Fresh or frozen cranberries both work. Thaw frozen cranberries on the counter about 10 mins before adding to dough mixture.
Fill muffin cups 2/3 full; they will "pop over" the top as they bake.
Storage: airtight in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
