Ingredients

  • 4 c Bisquick or store-brand version
  • 1 c full-fat sour cream
  • 1 c Sprite or 7-Up any lemon-lime, clear soda will work
  • 1 stick butter melted

Instructions

  • Prep: Preheat your oven to 450°F. Measure out 1 cup of sour cream and bring it to room temperature. Melt the butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick and sour cream. The mixture will appear crumbly.
  • Pour in the Sprite and stir until a soft dough forms. Avoid overmixing; a few streaks of flour are fine.
  • Coat the bottom of a 9x13-inch glass baking dish with about 1/3 of the melted butter.
  • Carefully scoop the biscuit dough into the buttered baking dish. Pour another 1/3 of the melted butter over the dough.
  • Use a spatula to gently spread the dough evenly and to the edges of the baking dish.
  • With a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 square portions.
  • Drizzle the remaining butter over the top of the cut biscuits.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until the tops turn golden brown.
  • Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them sit in the baking dish for 5 minutes.
