Ingredients

  • 4 medium to large russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Wash the potatoes well, then peel and cut them into ¼-inch thick fries. Try to keep the fries as evenly sized as possible for even cooking.
  • Place the cut fries in a large bowl and cover with cold water. Next, you want to let them soak for 30 minutes. This is key for getting crispy fries!
  • Drain the fries and pat them very dry with paper towels or clean kitchen towels.
  • In a large dry bowl, toss the fries with olive oil until evenly coated.
  • Add the paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Toss again until the fries are well seasoned.
  • Lightly spray the inside of the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Add the fries in a single layer, making sure they aren’t too crowded — this helps them crisp up. (If using a small or medium air fryer, cook in two batches.)
  • Air fry at 400°F for 10 minutes. Then shake the basket to flip the fries and continue cooking for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  • Let the fries cool slightly before serving — they’ll continue to crisp up as they rest.
