If you're like and you're totally in love with the kitchen, having your own torch is a complete dream. I have always imagined myself with that handy torch looking all cool and like an actual culinary chef. What to Look For?
1. Ergonomically Designed
An item is ergonomically designed if it was designed with the efficiency and ease of use in mind. I remember using torches before that were poorly designed and caused a ton of redness and discomfort while I was using it. This is not only uncomfortable but it might also cause accidents.

It would also be best if you check if the gas for the torch you're getting is readily available in your area.What I also found to be very convenient is to look for torches that already have the gas included. There are also a few manufacturers that include refills with the package this will not only be more convenient it would also save you a couple of bucks.
When we're buying any product, its durability should be one of the first things we should check for. I have had my fair share of torches that suddenly stopped working after a couple of uses. For me, this isn't only very annoying, not to mention disappointing, but it could also be a safety hazard.
You wouldn't really know if there is something wrong with the starter to burn the gas and you also wouldn't know if it is already safe for disposal.Aside from this, it really is such a huge upset if you're already so excited to use your torch then all of a sudden it doesn't work at all.

How to Use?
Using a kitchen torch might seem very after straightforward but it's not. Yes, it's easy as clicking a button but I what I found out is that there's a technique in order for you to have perfectly cooked food. The key to getting the most out of your torch is making sure that the flame is an oxidizing flame or that the tip of the flame is blue.
This signals that the temperature is just right and that your flame is not on too high. Oftentimes, we get really excited and but the flame up too high and we’ll get a yellow-orange tip. This is not good since it means that some hydrocarbons were not properly combusted so it might end up on your food.
I also notice a lot of people directly turning on the torch in front of the food. Honestly, this is how I used to do it as well it was something that I didn't really think about.
Now, I realize that by turning on the torch in front of the food some of the fuel might accidentally be transferred. Based on my experience, it's also better to adjust the flame away from the food so that it won't get too burnt.
